About

Hi, I’m Oskar Carl.

I’m a computer scientist working towards my Ph.D., primarily focusing on distributed systems - specifically decentralization and federation - and a keen interest in safe programming languages. Additional topics of interest to me are continuous integration, testing, and other aspects of systems administration and automation.
I recently acquired my masters degree in applied computer science at the University of Duisburg-Essen and am now employed as research and teaching assistant at the UDE’s chair for distributed systems.

Usually I spend my time working, with my friends, or fiddling with various servers and other computers. In the past I’ve also participated in a variety of university committees and held different roles at the computer science student council. Aside from this I like shows, beer, bars, music concerts, and board games.
